Well, if you don’t agitate it, it’s perfectly safe. it’s when you start screwing with it and getting all the fibres in the air when it becomes dangerous.
But if you want to, you can phone some removal company and get it professionally taken out.

Well you just answered your own question. That stuff is dangerous. You shouldn’t have to ask us what to do if you already know what the risks are for leaving it there.

Well yes of course it takes just one fibre to cause years of problems.

And im not trying to worry you but it has the same effect as tobacco but much worse so can end up killing people after years of respiritary disease

First. “probably” asbestos is not good enough. You have to have it checked. Do NOT rely on neighbors, relatives, and pictures to get yourself worked up. Potential asbestos materials have to be TESTED. In homes, ceilings are usually NOT asbestos, but they do exist. So the first thing you need to do is have it tested. You can take some to a local lab in a ziplock or get them to come out and take the sample.

If it is asbestos, removal will depend on condition and type. You need to get an inspector to advise you there, but for piece of mind, you will probably get it removed. The thing you need to have tested in your house is radon. That is a much bigger danger to your kids in many homes, depending on where you live.

Probably not. According to http://www.mesotheliomanews.com/asbestos/asbestos-removal/, Asbestos should be removed only if absolutely necessary, since disturbing the asbestos-containing materials is what releases the cancer-causing fibers into the air. Asbestos that is in good condition should be left alone because it is not likely to release fibers. If you have asbestos in poor condition, hire a certified asbestos contractor to complete the removal or repair. Until the work is completed and thoroughly cleaned up, keep the children out of the house to minimize any possible exposure.
